About your role: 

We’re looking for a creative, strategic thinker with excellent tech and design skills to help elevate our e-marketing game to new heights as our full-time, in-house Email Marketing Manager. This is a cross department role that will be creating and implementing email marketing automations throughout each stage of the customer journey (pre-sales, post-booking, post-trip re-engagement.) 


Your main duties include running email marketing campaigns end-to-end, creating and managing email databases and audience segmentation, developing engaging newsletter content from concept to implementation, and tracking performance for ongoing optimization. The most successful e-marketing manager will be a self-starter who is able to build strategic user journeys, has a knack for automation tech, and is able to create engaging content to inform, educate, and nurture customers throughout the sales funnel for two travel brands – FTLO Travel & Sojrn. 


This role is remote but will need to be available during US time zones.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Develop and produce creative email content from concept to deployment for FTLO and Sojrn

  • Work closely with sales, marketing and ops teams to identify target audiences throughout the sales cycle and create the right user journey to nurture them down the funnel

  • Design and implement direct email marketing campaigns. This includes (but is not limited to) developing user journey in mailchimp, managing audience segmentation automations, designing email templates, building email lists, and more.

  • Research and conceptualize branding needs to connect with the target audiences 

  • Manage and report on email marketing campaigns and results; use results to determine ROI, make suggestions for improvements, and establish best practices

  • Continually raise the bar on email design and messaging – developing fresh layouts that connect with and inspire the desired audience to drive action

  • Comfortably vary email concepts by style, imagery, copy and other branding characteristics for each brand 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of email automation tech, design trends, tools/platforms, and travel industry trends

  • Manage organization and archiving of all e-marketing campaigns

You are:

  • A self-starter who knows what needs to be done and operates with urgency, focus, and discipline

  • A wiz at time management and have exceptional organizational skills with a sense of priority and attention to detail

  • Able to work well under pressure of meeting multiple deadlines, tight timelines, juggling multiple projects and competing priorities

  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment often requiring short turnaround times

  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills 

  • Enthusiast, creative, and have a good sense of humor

  • A profound lover of travel

You have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in email marketing, tech automations, or related field

  • Advanced knowledge of Mailchimp (audience segmentation, building strategic user journeys, tagging automations, content management, best practices, etc)

  • Advanced knowledge of Canva or other design tools to create cohesive branded email templates 

  • Proficiency in marketing automation technology (AirTable experience a plus)

  • Experience with Zapier or other API integration tools

  • Experience with HTML/CSS and content management systems a plus

  • Experience with analytical and database tools to track, measure, and report on results of email marketing campaigns to determine ROI

  • Excellent written communication, grammar and copywriting skills

  • Solid understanding of the full sales lifecycle with the ability to optimize user experience throughout each stage

  • Ability to work independently and with cross-department teams to meet deadlines

  • B2C start-up experience a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

This position does not require travel but opportunities to join trips may be awarded.
