Frequently Asked Questions

Covid-19

What are your Covid protocols?

Health and safety of Sojrn participants is our top priority. Before each Chapter, participants will be informed of the latest Covid protocols in place and local destination laws for your destination in the Pre-Departure Hub.

Additional Covid precautions are also in place:

1. Low Covid numbers and access to not overburdened healthcare facilities are integral to our destination selection process.

2. Travelers will be asked for proof of a negative PCR or Antigen test taken within 48 hours of joining the group.

3. The Sojrn team and Local Hosts are trained to responds to a variety of scenarios, including positive cases or local outbreaks.

4. Anyone with symptoms of illness will be required to take a Covid test and isolate if positive. Anyone in close contact with a confirmed case will be required to test as well.

5. Coworking spaces will be sanitized regularly.

6. Apartments/accommodations will be professionally cleaned before arrival, with cleaning goods provided complimentary to each property.

Am I required to be fully vaccinated against Covid before going on a trip?

As of March 2022, we are dropping our blanket vaccination requirement and will have Chapter-specific requirements based on local regulations. Please check each Chapter page for specific requirements.

While vaccination may not be required, unvaccinated participants are required to book private accommodations.

Please note: in certain destinations, while a vaccine may not be required for entry, it may be required to participate in certain activities. We will try to offer alternatives to the best of our ability but cannot make guarantees and cannot provide refunds for any activities you are unable to participate in because of your vaccination status.

Am I required to get tested for Covid before going on a trip?

To avoid outbreaks that could jeopardize our Sojrn Chapters, all of our travelers need to get a Covid test before the first day of their trip, regardless of their vaccination status.

Per Sojrn policy, we require proof of a negative test result taken no earlier than two days before the trip starts. We accept results from any test taken at an authorized testing site (health centers, pharmacies, etc.). We'll also accept results from proctored self-test kits (taken with an e-med/telehealth provider). Additionally, if you have an FDA-approved self-test kit, you can go through Total Testing Solutions to have an over-the-counter test proctored and the result verified.

We understand that this is an extra step, but we promise it's with the best intention to keep our travelers safe. This requirement has stopped several potential outbreaks in the past, as we have had a number of travelers test positive in the days leading up to their Chapters.

Thank you for looking out for your fellow Chaptermates and taking this extra step to ensure we have a successful trip.

What happens if I decide to cancel?

We understand plans change, which is why we give you until 60 days before your Chapter start date to switch to a different one.

If you need to cancel your Sojrn, you will be responsible for the amounts below based on the date we receive your written confirmation of cancellation at support@sojrn.travel.

61 days or more days before departure: Deposit is non refundable and issued as “travel credit” on your account that can be transferred to another Chapter within five years. Any additional amount paid can be refunded or given as travel credit.

60-31 days before departure: 50% of the cost is non-refundable. Any additional amount paid will be refunded or given as travel credit.

30 days or less before departure: Full Chapter cost is non-refundable.

This travel credit will expire five years from the date of issue. The deposit or travel credit cannot be exchanged for a cash refund of any type (see section below regarding trip transfers and travel credits).

No refund can be provided if you fail to join the Chapter, join it late, or leave it prior to its completion for any reason.

Further, any non-refundable deposits made to third-party suppliers and third-party cancellation fees will be subtracted from any refunds due under this section. In some instances, this may result in a refund or credit of $0 after these subtractions.

If my trip is canceled, what are my options?

If a Chapter is canceled due to reasons within Sojrn’s control and not for reasons due to force majeure, we can offer you the following choices:

  • Travel credit equal to what you have paid.

  • A refund equal to what you have paid.

If a trip is canceled due to a force majeure event, we can offer you the following choices:

  • Travel credit equal to the trip cost that you have paid minus any unrecoverable costs and monies. Unrecoverable costs and monies include but are not limited to deposit monies that we have received from you and forwarded to our suppliers, cancellation penalties imposed by third parties, our current standard fee to cover work involved in planning, booking and organizing your participation in a trip.

  • Travel credit equal to the trip deposit and a refund equal to the trip remaining balance that you have paid minus any unrecoverable costs and monies.

We require all travelers to obtain travel insurance to cover losses in the case of unrecoverable costs.

Please see full Terms and Conditions HERE

What happens if I get Covid?

Anyone showing signs of illness will be required to take a Covid test.

If it is positive, you will be subject to local quarantine regulations and the Chapter Host has the right to isolate you from the rest of the group. You must test negative on two separate tests to rejoin the group.

We will do our best to help you catch up on any activities you missed but cannot guarantee availability. There may also be an additional cost for this.
